Kit Ogilvie, President of Ogilvie Search
Associates, consults on senior-level executive searches in
Pharmaceuticals and has built a highly successful business based on a
lifetime of experience in the Industry.
Having spent over twenty years as an HR executive at SmithKline Beecham, Kit began his career in Executive
Search in 1994, and since then, using his broad experience and his
understanding of industry issues, has developed an impressive track
record of senior level Pharmaceutical appointments. Typically he works
closely with top company executives to find and place talented leaders in
roles critically important to their company’s success. He has been particularly successful in
placing senior executives (including Heads of Research, Senior Vice
Presidents, Vice Presidents, Senior Directors and Directors) in R&D
positions ranging from Early Discovery through Drug Development, and in
commercial functions such as Marketing, Business Development, and Project
Management, in a wide range of therapeutic categories. Collaborating
closely with the top management of his largest client, Kit helped to
build the new R&D Leadership team after a major merger, bringing in
talented scientific leaders with the expertise required to ensure the
success of the new Company.
Earlier in his career, Kit was a Human Resources
Executive with SmithKline Beecham in
Manufacturing, Research & Development, Consumer Brands (Continental
Europe), and in the World-wide Pharmaceuticals Headquarters in London, where he
was also a member of the Pharmaceutical Executive Committee. When SmithKline and Beecham merged, Kit led one of the
merger integration teams and was subsequently invited to build a shared
service HR function in SmithKline
Beecham’s Corporate Headquarters in London.
In 1991, he moved to the United States as Human
Resources VP for R&D, and was instrumental in driving a wide range of
post-merger change initiatives.
In 1994, Kit joined Howard Fischer Associates in Philadelphia, where
he used his extensive knowledge of the industry to build a pharmaceutical
practice, which was subsequently spun-off as Ogilvie-Smartt Associates.
Today, as President of Ogilvie Search Associates, Kit
uses his many years of experience, his personal style, and the many
enduring relationships he has established with clients and candidates to
function as one of the premier Executive Search Consultants to the
Pharmaceutical Industry.
